JPD Architects provided full architectural services for an 1800ft² low energy extension to a rural cottage in Co. Wicklow. The extension was designed to maximise lake and mountain views to the north, while at the same time, opening onto a private and secure tiered gardens to the south. The form of the building is conceived as a simple object that fits sympathetically within its context of overgrown hedgerows and crumbling stonework.
