We started this project with a brief to extend the existing small school. However, it soon became apparent that it would be more cost effective to build a new school and demolish the old one. This was done with the approval of the Department of Education and Skills.
The school consists of 8 classrooms with en-suite toilets and wet areas. There is also a G.P. Room/Gymnasium, Social Space, Library, resource rooms, kitchenette, staff room and smaller facilities. The administration and principal’s office are located at the entrance lobby to ensure control over access to the school.
The new school was constructed to the rear of the existing. When it was ready for occupation the school moved in and the existing school was demolished and the set down area and car parking was constructed.
Completed in August 2010, on time and within budget.
