Feasibility Study
Location
Bru Chaoimhin, Cork Street, Dublin
We completed this feasibility study for the HSE to look into the possibility of creating assisted living facilities at Bru Chaoimhin. The site contains a small brick building which is a protected structure. The proposed design creates an entrance courtyard and a protected south facing garden.
The new contemporary buildings are clad in grey brick. There scale and positioning on site were carefully considered for their use and with respect to the existing building. The proposed bedroom suites are accessed via a sheltered colonnade; promoting social interaction & physical connection to sunlight and nature.
The existing building houses the communal dining and kitchen facilities and a laundry. The proposed new buildings contain eight independently accessed bedroom suites, offices and a communal living area.
