Cill Mhuire
Client
Parish of Newbridge
Project Type
New Church
Location
Cill Mhuire, Ballymany, Newbridge, Co. Kildare
The Parish had expanded to such an extent that an additional church was needed. It was decided to locate it at the opposite end of the town to the existing Parish church.
This church caters for a congregation of 750 with a day chapel, vestry and toilet. It is designed in such a way that the priest encloses the congregation within the spread of his arms when giving a blessing and everyone is within 20 meters of the altar.
The stained glass windows are by Lua Breen and the sanctuary elements by Chris Ryan.
Completed in 1983.
