The existing cottage building was extended and reconfigured to comprise three bedrooms, three bathrooms, dining, kitchen, and living areas. Two new wings were added to the building to create a U-shaped form which enfolds a private garden on the western side and which affords symmetrical access to the building on the eastern side.
The three arches of the front façade had been filled in and forgotten until construction work began. After this discovery, the brick façade was carefully restored to pristine condition.
