Planning Permission Granted – House in Rock, Co. Kildare

24/02/2017

Ongoing project: Planning Permission was recently granted for this storey-and-a-half house and separate garage in Rock, Co. Kildare. Asymmetric gable forms serve to break up the massing of the overall volume, reducing its visual impact when viewed from the wider context.

The proportions of the punched square openings into the irregular gables define the contemporary aesthetic of the house.

The ground floor living spaces, through the means of sliding pocket doors, can be opened into one flowing space or divided into more intimate rooms. The west facing sitting room benefits from a glazed double height gable wall, providing views across the landscape.
